The Rhythm of Discarded Parts, Stromberg reflects on what it means to listen to everyday rhythms and how to re-incorporate discarded elements into new understandings and experiences.  Each page of the score evokes the gestures of fallen sticks and chunks of wood that are washed up by the Arno River on the riverbank near her studio.  The forms of these fallen and discarded pieces of wood result from the river's rising and falling through both natural and manmade forces; Stromberg asks what it would mean to stop and listen to them. What sounds do they evoke? What rhythms do they reveal? Stromberg proposes this metaphor, asking whether we can listen deeply to what is not heard.

In a gesture of reciprocity to the river and to the riverside, the scores were performed by 3 musicians, Francesco Pellegrino, Cosimo Fiaschi, and Tobia Bondesan, sounding to the river from which the scores came.
